‘Our game changer’ - Real Madrid fans hail one player after win over Espanyol

The La Liga champions kept their fine start to the season alive on Sunday

Supporters of Spanish giants Real Madrid have taken to social media in their numbers on Sunday evening, to single one player out

Carlo Ancelotti’s troops, of course, were back in action a short time ago.

Fresh off the back of successive victories to open the campaign, Los Blancos made the trip to Catalunya, hopeful of making it nine points from nine at the expense of Espanyol.

And, when all was said and done at the RCDE Stadium, this is precisely what the evening’s visitors managed.

Despite Joselu drawing Espanyol level on the stroke of the interval, an early strike on the part of Vinicius Jr, followed by a late Karim Benzema double, ultimately culminated in a 3-1 Real Madrid triumph.

On the back of the final whistle sounding on Sunday evening, it should therefore come as little surprise to hear of the Real Madrid faithful taking to social media, to celebrate yet another victory to open the campaign.

And, as alluded to above, one member of Ancelotti’s ranks in particular has been widely singled out as the difference in Los Blancos’ crucial breakthrough late on.

The player in question? Rodrygo Goes.

As showcased below, after emerging from the bench to lay on Benzema’s go-ahead finish just minutes from time, Brazilian starlet Rodrygo has earned a collective title on the part of his club’s supporters:
