Supporters of Manchester City’s title rivals have taken to social media to vent their frustrations at referee Graham Scott, after he decided on not sending off Vincent Kompany following a last-ditch tackle on Jamie Vardy during the Citizens’ clash with Leicester.
The two sides are currently locked in action at the King Power stadium, with Man City looking to extend their lead atop the Premier League table.
Pep Guardiola’s men came into proceedings on a remarkable 15-game win-streak across all competitions, having failed to secure victory in just one of their fixtures to this point in the season.
Leicester, meanwhile, were unbeaten in their last 6 games across all competitions, and earned a 2-2 draw at the Bet365 Stadium versus Stoke City before the international break.
Guardiola opted for a strong starting lineup, with all of David Silva, Raheem Sterling, Leroy Sane and Gabriel Jesus getting the nod in attack.
Sergio Aguero was left on the bench after collapsing whilst on international duty with Argentina earlier this week, while Nicolas Otamendi’s suspension paved the way for captain Vincent Kompany to return at the heart of the Citizens’ defence.
However, it didn’t take long for Kompany, who has not featured for City since the end of August, to showcase his lack of sharpness, as a perfectly-weighted through ball saw Jamie Vardy slip beyond the Belgian with a clear path to goal after just 3 minutes.
Kompany proceeded to upend Vardy in a desperate last-ditch attempt to win the ball, with a red card looking odds-on to be produced by referee Graham Scott.
However, to the bemusement of Leicester’s players and fans alike, Scott decided on just a booking for Kompany, a decision which has not gone down well with fans of Manchester City’s title rivals:
3 minutes in and Kompany has already gotten away with a red card.
City getting unfair refereeing decisions? Imagine my shock.

How was Vincent Kompany not sent off for deliberately wiping out Vardy? Stone wall red card every day of the week. Anybody?

Vardy through on goal and Kompany just takes him out. Clear red but referee flapped it. Typical when it’s city playing

Ref completely bottled it. Kompany should definitely 100% have seen red

Kompany gets a yellow for a red card offense. Makes sense! City must win the league
