One in, one out: The latest on Calvert-Lewin & more as Everton confirm XI for Burnley clash

Everton’s matchday squad for the club’s meeting with Burnley this evening has been confirmed, featuring both positive and negative news for fans of the Toffees.

Clarets clash

The final fixture of the Premier League weekend is of course set to play out in less than an hour’s time.

The clash in question will see Everton welcome Burnley to Goodison Park, for the respective clubs’ first outing on the back of the international break.

Hosts Everton head into proceedings no doubt confident of securing all three points, having enjoyed a solid start to life under Rafael Benitez, en route to seven points from an available nine.

A third victory in four this evening, meanwhile, would see the Blues climb to the summit of the English top-flight, alongside all of Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool.

And, in a blow for all associated with the Merseysiders, it has now been confirmed that the 24-year-old will indeed be forced to sit out proceedings on Monday.

This comes with Rafael Benitez’s latest matchday squad having been unveiled a short time ago.

Calvert-Lewin, along with James Rodriguez, is nowhere to be seen, though the news on captain Seamus Coleman, who was also labelled a doubt for the clash due to an injury picked up during the international break, is more positive:
