One Chelsea player goes from Zero to Hero v Qarabag

Unexpected hero

One Chelsea player went from zero to hero in the Champions League clash against Qarabag, as the London side secured their place in the knockout stage.

Antonio Conte’s side needed a win to secure their place in the next stage of the top European competition and they did exactly that.

Though, it all came courtesy of one very unexpected player in the form of Brazilian forward Willian.

The wide man has been hugely criticised during the current season and many Chelsea fans have expressed their anger at his performances.

Though, it was Willian who ran the game for Chelsea in Azerbaijan as he won the penalty that lead to the clubs first goal.

Bursting into the box, the Brazilian was adjudged to have been pushed having beaten his defender who was sent off.

Social media was certainly not convinced of the penalty decision but it did not affect the taker.

Eden Hazard stepped up to the spot-kick and dispatched expertly.

Willian then got amongst the goals himself, finishing off a lovely passing move from Antonio Conte’s side.

To make things even better for the player, he was also the one who won the second penalty, which Cesc Fabregas also stuck into the corner.

Finally, the player sealed his brilliant performance with a lovely low strike to make it 4-0 and finish the game in style.

Chelsea fans were certainly not sure of Willian’s inclusion before the game but they were certainly happy after it.

Hazard shines

Another player who impressed during the game was star man Eden Hazard.

While he did not finish the game and was substituted in the second half, he made the most of the time he was.

Pulling the strings for a central role, he linked up with Willian for his goal as well as dispatching his own penalty.
