Olympiacos vs Tottenham betting tips: Champions League match preview & predictions

Olympiacos vs Tottenham 101 Great Goals’ prediction: Olympiacos 1-3 Tottenham

Last season’s finalists re-embark on another Champions League adventure as they look to go one better.

Tottenham Hotspur’s confidence received a huge boost on the weekend with a comprehensive win over Crystal Palace.

Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping his side can now look forward following much uncertainty surrounding players’ futures.

Olympiacos return to the Champions League having been in the Europa League last season.

The Athens club have made a good start to life in the Greek Super League winning five of five.

But Spurs will be hopeful of making a better start to life in the group-stages after taking just a point from their opening three games last season.

Champions League preview: Olympiacos vs Tottenham

Tottenham are back in the Champions League following their remarkable run to the final.

Spurs produced one of the most dramatic European campaigns last season.

From their group stage turnaround to VAR in Manchester to Lucas Moura’s second-half hat-trick in Amsterdam – it was full of many highs and lows.

Now they will be looking to replicate Liverpool by seeking retribution for their defeat in the final and going one further this term.

Following a mixed transfer window, Tottenham’s squad felt somewhat dysfunctional with areas of weakness and players still at the club who wanted out over the summer.

Defeat to Newcastle United and letting a two-goal lead slip at the Emirates, suggested something was wrong in N17.

But with the transfer window now closed across Europe and Pochettino holding talks with his players, on Saturday Tottenham looked refocused.

The 4-0 win over Crystal Palace was without a doubt one of their best performances of the year as the Argentine’s side looked back to its best.

Pochettino will be hoping all the negativity at the club is now in the past and his team can focus on making a quick start to their European campaign.

Tottenham team news vs Olympiacos

Tanguy Ndombele is expected to return to the line-up after returning against Crystal Palace from a thigh problem.

Walker-Peters could also start despite Serge Aurier impressing against Palace, with Pochettino set to rotate.

Neither Aurier or Danny Rose have travelled, so expected to see KWP and Ben Davies.

Ryan Sessegnon was expected to be named in Tottenham’s squad after returning to training last week. However, Sessegnon has not travelled due to a re-occurrence of his hamstring injury.

Juan Foyth and Giovani Lo Celso remain sidelined with injuries.
