Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will make a late decision on Marcus Rashford ahead of Burnley test

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will make a late decision on Marcus Rashford ahead of Burnley test

Manchester United vs Burnley

Manchester United return to action in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

They secured a place in the Europa League Semi Final last night after seeing off Granada 4-0 on aggregate and will now face Roma.

The Red Devils currently sit in 2nd place in the Premier League, 11 points behind Manchester City and 9 ahead of Leicester in third.

Burnley on the other hand are down in 15th place and a win at Old Trafford would go some way to securing their survival.

Speaking to the press ahead of the game, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer provided an update on Marcus Rashford.

“I’ve got to hope he’ll be available and not make it worse. That is the decision I have to make. Fingers crossed.”

“He wasn’t due to be on the bench (against Granada). He didn’t train (Thursday). But just in case he put his hand up and said, if needed, I can do a job.”

“It’s a decision I have to make on Sunday morning. He is important for us. It is a difficult one. I have to go by how he feels in a couple of days.”

Solskjaer also provided an update on defender Eric Bailly.

“Eric has been isolating back home in Ivory Coast. He is back here now. We hope he’ll be available for the weekend.”

“Hopefully he will train tomorrow (Saturday) and see how he feels. He had a test today and we need confirmation he’s still negative.”

“Eric has played well when he’s played. I know there has been speculation. We are talking to him about his contract. I don’t see any issues with him”
