Lingard’s time at Man United
Jesse Lingard is a product of Manchester United’s youth system.
The now 26-year-old enjoyed spells at the likes of Derby County and Brighton, before eventually forcing his way into United’s first-team setup.
Lingard has since gone on to make 167 appearances for the Red Devils, in which he has scored 26 and assisted 18.
While Lingard occasionally comes up with a big goal, such as in the 2016 FA Cup final vs Crystal Palace, he is rather inconsistent, and has never really lived up to the potential that he looked to have when he was younger.
Solskjaer on Lingard
Lingard has also recently been in a spot of trouble for a video that he posted of his friend on Snapchat.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is believed to have disciplined the midfielder over said video.

Now, ahead of the 2019/20 season, Solskjaer has stated that he will demand more from Lingard:
“Jesse has proved before with his big-game goals that he’s valuable. But of course I’m going to demand more of him.
“I think he will be the first one to know that his last season was not up to standard. What we have discussed can be between the two of us, but I expect more from him and he knows what I want.
“Jesse knows what it is to be a Manchester United player. At times maybe he’s made one or two bad decisions but he’s made more good decisions than bad. He’s a top boy.” As quoted by the Mirror.
Lingard scored just four and assisted three in 27 league outings this past season.
