Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has recently provided fitness updates on both Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford.
Man United eyeing Champions League spot
Before the current campaign was halted, Manchester United were still firmly in the hunt for a Champions League berth.
After 29 games of the Premier League season, United sit 5th in the division, just three points adrift of 4th placed Chelsea, who United have a better goal difference than.
Manchester City’s European ban, though, means that United may not even need to finish as high as 5th.
But even with their current position potentially enough to seal a place in the Champions League for next season, the Red Devils are by no means nailed on to secure a return to Europe’s premiere club competition.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are currently just two points above both Wolves and Sheffield United in the Premier League table, with the latter possessing a game in hand.
Pogba & Rashford updates
As a result, the United boss will no doubt be keen to have as strong a squad as possible at his disposal when the campaign eventually gets back underway.
And if the aforementioned comments from Solskjaer are anything to go by, it looks as though he will have all of his players raring to go.
Two big misses for United before the season was halted by the COVID-19 outbreak were Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba.
Rashford hasn’t played since mid-January, whilst Pogba has been out of action since December, last featuring for United versus Newcastle on Boxing day.
However, when speaking about the pair recently, Solskjaer stated that both are looking good, and have re-joined training:
“They’re looking good.
“They’ve joined training now and they’ve done everything the other boys have been doing. No reaction so far, touch wood.”
Solskjaer went on to add that it looks as though he will have a full squad to choose from when the Premier League resumes:
“When we get started, it looks like we can have a full squad to choose from.”
