Official: Manchester United confirm signing of Daniel James

A future star of Old Trafford?

Manchester United have confirmed the signing of Swansea winger Daniel James, with the Welshman signing a five-year deal at Old Trafford.

It was announced last week by the Red Devils that a fee had been agreed with Swansea for the transfer.

However, with the player on international duty, it was difficult to conclude the move.

Now, the deal is done, and Daniel James is a Manchester United player.

The Welshman scored an impressive five goals and assisted 10 in 38 appearances last season.

Considering he’s just 21, that’s a pretty good return.

Those performances netted him a move to Man United and Ole Gunnar Solskjær has praised James today.

Speaking after the move was confirmed, Man United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjær claimed he’s looking forward to working with James, explaining that ‘he has all the attributes’ needed to play for the Red Devils.

“Daniel is an exciting young winger with lots of skills, vision, exceptional pace and a good work ethic,” Solskjær explained, as quoted by the Manchester United official website.

“He had a great season with Swansea City and has all the attributes needed to become a Manchester United player.

”We are delighted he has signed with our club and we are all looking forward to working with him. This is the perfect environment for Daniel to continue his development.”

“This is one of the best days of my life”

Daniel James has also been speaking about his move to Old Trafford.

The Welshman claims that Manchester United is ‘the perfect place’ for him to develop.

“This is one of the best days of my life and a challenge I am really looking forward to,” he explained, also on the Man United website.

“The Premier League is the best league in the world and Manchester United is the perfect place for me to continue to develop as a player.

“This is an incredibly proud moment for me and my family, however, it is tinged with sadness that my father isn’t able to share this experience with us. I am looking forward to working with Ole, meeting the team and getting started.”
