Official: Brighton complete Leandro Trossard signing

Brighton announce impressive signing

Brighton & Hove Albion have announced the signing of Belgian winger Leandro Trossard from KRC Genk, with the player signing a four-year deal.

Trossard impressed last season, when he scored 22 goals and assisted 11, including three goals in the Europa League.

As a result, the Belgian was linked with a move to Arsenal before Brighton moved for him.

While that interest seemingly went dead, it was reported this week that Brighton would sign Trossard for £18million.

Now, that move has been confirmed by the Seagulls.

“It’s an exciting adventure for me to play in the Premier League with Brighton”

In a statement on their official website, Brighton confirmed the move, and revealed that Trossard had signed a four-year deal.

Safe to say, Trossard is excited for his Premier League journey.

“It’s been a busy few days for sure, but both myself and my wife are really happy about our new life in England now,” he explained to the Brighton official website.

“It’s a new adventure, I’ve spoken with some people already and they told me that Brighton is a really nice city to live in.

“It’s a nice club and one which I’ve followed over the last few months. It’s an exciting adventure for me to play in the Premier League with Brighton.”

Potter delighted with Trossard signing

Graham Potter has also been speaking about Trossard today.

The Brighton boss is delighted with the signing.

“We are delighted to welcome Leandro to the club and excited about the impact he can have for us,” he explained.

“He’s an attack-minded player who had a very impressive season last year in helping Genk win the league title.

“He was influential in the side’s success last term and scored a lot of goals, as well as creating chances for others.

“At 24 he also brings good experience, having captained the side and also featured many times in the Europa League.”
