Gareth Bale & Real Madrid
During the international break, rumours have got louder that Gareth Bale’s days with Real Madrid are drawing to a close.
That’s after it’s been confirmed that Bale has suffered another significant injury setback.
Bale’s time in Spain has been plagued by injuries.
This time, the injury comes in the form of a fibrillar rupture in the middle third of the adductor longus muscle of the left-leg.
It’s believed the Welsh star will be out of action for at least another month.
It brings the number of days Bale has missed because of injury since joining Real Madrid in September 2013 to more than 270, covering 56 games.
Perhaps more worrying is that over the last 12 months, Bale has missed 35 Real Madrid games and has been unavailable for 172 days.
Off to Man United?
Ever since he left Tottenham, Bale has been linked with a move to Man United.
And in the wake of his current injury, the bookies has slashed the odds of Bale joining the Red Devils.
The Spanish giants have hinted a summer exit may be on the cards for the Welshman, and the bookies have responded by slashing odds of him leaving when the season ends to just 6/5.
As for his next destination, Man United are currently the clear 2/1 favourites for his signature ahead of PSG (9/1) and neighbours Man City (14/1), while 14/1 also says Bale returns to Tottenham.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Bale has been heavily linked with a move away from the Bernabeu for some time and it’s now looking likely he’ll be back in the Premier League in a United shirt next season.”
