Burnley v Crystal Palace
Will this weekend be the last time Frank De Boer manages Crystal Palace?
When the Eagles landed the Dutch legend in the summer, fans in south London were over the moon.
But three Premier League games later, and the tide has turned dramatically.
Palace have lost all three matches in the league so far. Huddersfield won 3-0 at Selhurst Park, Palace lost 1-0 at Liverpool, while last time out Swansea won 2-0 away from home.
As for Burnley, the Clarets have started the season on a steady footing.
They had one win, one draw and one defeat so far this season. But that’s included a brilliant 3-2 win at Chelsea, plus a highly impressive 1-1 draw at Tottenham.
Odds slashed on Frank De Boer
Ahead of the Burnley match, the bookies have slashed odds on Frank De Boer getting the sack.
De Boer, famously, spent less than 70 days as the Inter Milan manager.
But, should he be axed this weekend, his stint at Crystal Palace will be even shorter than that.
The Dutch boss apparently has one game to save his job, and Ladbrokes are now offering just 13/8 on Burnley beating Palace and De Boer being sacked within 24 hours.
Currently the clear 1/2 favourite in the Sack Race, De Boer is 6/4 to still be in charge on Christmas Day, while 3/1 says he somehow turns things around and is at Selhurst Park for the final game of the season.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Things couldn’t have gone much worse for De Boer at Palace. Crisis talks after three games tells you all you need to know; the pressure is on the Dutchman, and Sunday’s game might just be his last.”
