Mourinho to leave Manchester United
Manchester United have had a somewhat poor start to their 2018/19 campaign.
United won their opening game vs Leicester City 2-1.
But their following two games would see Manchester United lose 3-2 to Brighton in an embarrassing display and then 3-0 to Tottenham.
Couple this with Jose Mourinho’s strange relationship with the press this season and it is no surprise he is being rumoured to be leaving United.
‘I don’t think about it, I totally ignore that’
One name that is being tipped to replace Jose Mourinho at Manchester United is Wolves boss Nuno Santo.
However, Santo has refused to be drawn into these rumours.
When asked about the United link Santo stated:
“You know me. I don’t talk about that. It does not make sense.
“This is not the moment to even think about it. I don’t think about it, I totally ignore that, I totally ignore it.”
Asked if he aspired to one day manage a club like Manchester United, Santo stated:
“I don’t do like that. I go on a daily basis.
“I know what I have to do tomorrow – to prepare the boys well and prepare the team for a tough game against Burnley. This is the way I look at the future I take it day-by-day.”
“The most important thing is that we established standards in the last game, and we have to maintain those standards,” Santo said.
“Winning is always good and makes things a lot easier when you are trying to establish an identity like we are. We won in the last minute as well, which gave us a bit more of that push, but we have to do it again.”
Wolves Premier League return
Wolves have enjoyed a pretty successful return to the Premier League this season.
They began their campaign by drawing 2-2 with Everton.
Wolves then lost 2-0 to Leicester, but they would then draw 1-1 with Premier League Champions, Manchester City.
Wolves most recent game saw them pick up their first win of the season beating West Ham 1-0.
