Norwich’s Daniel Farke responds to Max Aarons rumours amid Spurs & Arsenal interest

Will Aarons leave in January?

Norwich boss Daniel Farke has responded to rumours linking defender Max Aarons with a move to Tottenham and Arsenal this month.

While Norwich remain bottom of the Premier League, several players have actually impressed.

The Canaries are seven points off safety and look set for the drop, but the stock of players such as Todd Cantwell, Teemu Pukki and Max Aarons has only risen.

Both Cantwell and Aarons have been linked with a move away from Norwich recently, with the latter being discussed as a target for Tottenham and Arsenal.

According to Sky Sports, even Borussia Dortmund have joined the race to sign Aarons this week.

Their report suggested that Norwich were demanding £30 million for the talented defender.

Now, Norwich boss Daniel Farke has responded to those reports.

‘Leave him alone and let him play some football’

Speaking ahead of Norwich’s clash with Manchester United, Farke dismissed the rumours, suggesting ‘it’s not the right time for him to even think about a move’.

‘I wouldn’t spend too much energy listening to all these rumours,’ Farke explained, as quoted by the Mail.

‘Max is a young guy and he still has four-and-a-half years of his contract left.

‘I think it’s not the right time for him to even think about a move. I would also be doubtful when too many clubs are linked with him.

‘He is totally at the right place here, he’s played nearly 20 Premier League games, now leave him alone and let him play some football.’

While there’s still potential that Aarons could leave this month, it certainly seems more likely he will leave in the summer.
