After seeing rivals Real Madrid smash past Juventus in the Champions League courtesy of a sublime Cristiano Ronaldo performance, Barcelona fans were keen to see their side do something similar in their tie against unfancied Roma on Wednesday night.
While they weren’t quite as thrilling as Real Madrid, they still managed to get a commanding lead – via their favourite goalscorer this season, own goal – and weren’t too worried to see Dzeko add the away goal for Roma.
People watching the game noted the luck Barcelona have had this season in the Champions League, and that they’re not at their best but are still heavy favourites to win the competition. With the likes of Lionel Messi in their side, anything at all can happen.
And they now have more than a foot in the semi-finals, where they could well face Real Madrid.
Or will it be a Champions League final between the two La Liga sides…

There’s a lot of acceptable conclusions you can draw from Barcelona-Roma but Alisson being a bad goalkeeper is not one of them. His teammates haven’t made it easy

There’s a guy on the pub here in Newcastle in a Barcelona top watching Liverpool- Man city, despite Barcelona being on TV right behind him. Odd folk up here!

Liverpool still won’t win champions league though this season . They come up short to either real Madrid or Barcelona.

If Messi doesn’t score a wonder goal tonight, it’s going to be a long night for Barcelona and Messi fans.

Own goal is back in fine form for Barcelona. Missed him!

Barcelona now 2-0 up thanks to what looks like another own goal. Not a bicycle kick to be seen.

Barcelona with the easiest draw still need an OG to secure them a place in the semis lol

If nothing else, this match just goes to show that everyone, even the opposition, wants to play for Barcelona.

Barcelona have genuinely been a bit average and disjointed yet they’re 3-0 up. Three fairly shabby goals too.

Barcelona have been riding on so much Luck in the UCL this season, if it’s not the Bar, it’s the opposition scoring two own goals in a match.
