England may be without Harry Kane for the next round of international games – and the forward is a doubt for the World Cup in Russia this summer as well, with his ankle injury raising a huge amount of questions, but it seems that Harry Maguire at least thinks the three lions are fine.
He noted that Harry Kane may be a top class player, but Jamie Vardy is someone who can do more than enough to win England games, and that he is one of the fastest players in the league.
Standard Sport, the centre half said: “I play against him in training, I see him each day, he is a nightmare to play against.
“You can ask any defender in the Premier League and they would say that he is one of the worst players to play against.
“His pace frightens people. He is so quick he causes trouble for everyone on the backline, but he works tirelessly as well. I am pleased he is on my team for club and country.
“Jamie is 31 but he looks after himself really well. He is in great form, great nick. He has definitely not lost any pace with age. If anything, he has come on stronger this season.”
England aren’t the only ones who are worrying about Kane, with Spurs in a fight for the top four and well aware they need to keep winning games to hold on to a Champions League spot.
The player himself is keen to get back as soon as possible, yet it may be too soon for the Chelsea clash, with both clubs looking at the fourth spot on the league – and the Blues well aware they need all three points against Spurs to be in with a shot of being able to take the Champions League spot.
