Shakhtar Donetsk vs Manchester City
Manchester City return to Champions League action on Tuesday night.
Pep Guardiola’s men take on Ukrainian powerhouse Shakhtar Donetsk.
It’s been a mixed start for Man City in this season’s competition.
Lyon stunned the Sky Blues on matchday one as the Ligue 1 outfit won 2-1 at the Etihad stadium.
But Man City rebounded away at Hoffenheim with a 2-1 victory on the road.
Shakhtar Donetsk are unbeaten in the Champions League, however they are also winless.
They have two points on the board after successive draws against Hoffenheim and Lyon.
No Benjamin Mendy, no Riyad Mahrez
On Tuesday the Times have gone about predicting how Man City may line up against Shakhtar Donetsk.
Guardiola is being tipped with making some significant changes to his side.
Last weekend in the Premier League, Man City beat Burnley 5-0.
However the Sky Blues may rotate their XI, with the likes of Benjamin Mendy and Riyad Mahrez predicted to drop out of the team.
Instead of Mendy, Ukrainian Oleksandr Zinchenko could be deployed at left-back.
Mahrez, who scored a beauty against Burnley, may be replaced by the returning Kevin De Bruyne.
Man City could also make other changes, with Vincent Kompany likely to miss out following his participation against Burnley.
Kyle Walker, who missed last weekend’s match, is set to return.
Finally Raheem Sterling could also feature in the XI, with Bernardo Silva a possible fall-guy.
The Times have predicted Man City’s XI as follows.
