Trouble at PSG?
When it comes to news out of Paris Saint Germain, L’Equipe are pretty much the gold standard.
On Saturday night, L’Equipe have revealed that Brazilian superstar Neymar has been involved in a training ground altercation with PSG coach Unai Emery.
Neymar has acclimatised to life at PSG in fine fashion since joining from Barcelona for 222 million euros.
PSG have looked irresistible in both Ligue 1 and the Champions League, yet not all has gone well.
Neymar has had some very public fallings out with Edinson Cavani on the pitch and now this story about Emery could be another problem for PSG’s owners.
Emery: “Neymar must adapt to Paris”
Ahead of Friday’s training session, Emery was asked about how Neymar is getting on at PSG.
Emery replied: “It takes time. The adaptation is not done in a week, two weeks, one, two or six months. Maybe he will need more time.
The PSG coach continued: “We want this time to go faster but Neymar must adapt to Paris, his teammates and our game ideas. And his teammates must also adapt to him. ”
It is far from clear whether Neymar was aware of these comments made by Emery, but in Friday’s subsequent training session, there was a falling out between the pair.
Neymar wanted to train for longer…
Emery split up his PSG squad on Friday between those who played against Anderlecht in the Champions League on Wednesday and those that didn’t.
The first group, those who played in the Champions League game, were told to finish training earlier than their counterparts.
Neymar was unhappy as he wanted to train for longer.
Jose Mourinho or Carlo Ancelotti for PSG?
The Brazilian superstar showed his dissatisfaction by pinging a ball against a wall.
Kobe Bryant, the NBA legend, was present and a witness told L’Equipe: “At first, we wondered if he was joking.”
Having invested so much in Neymar, this could be the first nail in the coffin for Unai Emery at PSG.
PSG have been linked with Jose Mourinho in recent weeks. Whilst well loved former coach Carlo Ancelotti is now out of work.
