Neymar senior on Telefoot

French TV audiences witnessed an exclusive interview on Sunday with Neymar’s dad on Telefoot.

It’s the first time Neymar senior has spoken publicly since his son left Barcelona to join PSG.

PSG broke the world transfer record landing the Brazilian. They paid Barcelona 222 million euros to sign Neymar.

As for Neymar’s dad, who also acts as his son’s agent, he also earned nicely from the PSG deal. He reportedly received €22 million from the transfer.

‘He should have stayed at Barcelona’

But according to Neymar’s dad, he wanted his son to stay at Barcelona.

But Neymar didn’t want to remain at the Camp Nou, he wanted to join PSG. He said “Neymar likes everything in Paris”.

He added that the Brazilian star wanted to escape his “comfort zone” in La Liga.

That comment sounds a lot like saying Neymar wanted to escape the shadow of Messi.

Of course, it’s worth remembering that Neymar should be pretty comfy in his new surrounding in Paris.

Neymar earns 3,069,520 euros a month at PSG, which is 100,000 euros a day.

On an annual basis, that works out at almost 37 million euros.

Talks about Edinson Cavani

Neymar senior also addressed the recent feud between his son at Edinson Cavani.

He argued that the whole story has been “exaggerated” – a word which insinuates that there was truth to the story, at least at some level.

Neymar senior said he believes the match against Bayern Munich in the Champions League revealed there is no problem between the South American stars.
