PSG and Brazil star Neymar has been accused of raping a woman in a Paris hotel.

However, Neymar has moved swiftly to deny all of the allegations in a 7-minute video posted on his Instagram channel.

Neymar is now in Brazil training with the national team ahead of this summer’s Copa America.

What is Neymar being accused of?

According to reports, a woman filed a claim of rape against Neymar on Friday in Sao Paulo.

As confirmed by the AP, the incident is said to have happened on May 15th at 8:20 pm in a hotel in Paris.

The New York Times have reported the following details of the alleged crime:

According to the police report, the woman said Neymar paid for her to fly from Brazil to Paris, then attacked her in a hotel in Paris on the evening of May 15.

The police report states that the woman, who was not identified by name, said she exchanged messages with Neymar on the social media platform Instagram before accepting an invitation to travel to Paris, where she met with him in a suite at Sofitel Paris Arc de Triomphe in May.

According to the report, the two spoke and “exchanged caresses” before, the woman said, Neymar “turned aggressive” and forced her to have sex against her will.

Neymar’s dad hits back on TV

Neymar’s dad has appeared on Band TV in Brazil in the wake of the rape accusations.

Neymar’s dad has defended his son, saying the whole episode was a “trap”. He continued:

If public opinion is not cleared up, and if we can’t show the truth rapidly, this will snowball. If we have to show Neymar’s WhatsApps and the conversations with this girl, we will.

Neymar denies all rape claims on Instagram

Following on from his dad’s comments, Neymar has now released a long video on Instagram directly addressing the rape claims.

The caption for the video read: “Because of extortion, I am being forced to expose my life and family”.
