Newcastle are interested in signing Kai Havertz
Reporter Christian Falk, who is the head of football at Sport Bild, has reported on Thursday that Newcastle United are in the market to sign Bayer Leverkusen playmaker Kai Havertz.
One has to assume that any possible Newcastle move for Havertz is dependent on the Saudi Arabian takeover going ahead.
Currently, those takeover talks appear to be stalled as the Premier League wrangle with the beoutQ, piracy problem.
Sadly, Christian Falk gave no context to Newcastle’s strategy to how they hope to land Havertz.
However, considering the Magpies will not be playing Champions League football next year, while the Europa League is also highly unlikely, Newcastle must be near the bottom of the pile when it comes to Havertz’s possible next employers.
Would the 20-year-old be convinced to join Newcastle because of money?
Because of many requests. True: Kai Havertz can imagine to play for @ChelseaFC. True: there are already talks. But: @ChelseaFC is not the one and only Club for Havertz @realmadrid @FCBarcelona @ManUtd @FCBayern @NUFC

What about Philippe Coutinho?
Yesterday we reported that Newcastle have started talks with Philippe Coutinho ahead of a possible move from Barcelona to St James’ Park.
France Football suggested that Coutinho is keen on joining Newcastle provided the takeover happens.
Could Newcastle really sign Coutinho and Havertz in the same summer? Well, the Saudis have the funds to make that a reality.
Chelsea lead the chase for Havertz, Man United also named
How likely is it that Havertz signs for Chelsea? Christian Falk reports:
True: Kai Havertz can imagine to play for Chelsea. True: there are already talks. But: Chelsea is not the one and only Club for Havertz.
On the other clubs in the frame for the German midfielder, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Manchester United are all listed.

The Times on Wednesday have once again confirmed Chelsea’s interest in signing 20-year-old Havertz.
However, the Times believe that the Blues are set to face stern competition for the German from some of world football’s biggest clubs:
(Chelsea) are in a battle with several European giants to sign Kai Havertz.
Bayer Leverkusen said that Havertz would cost as much as €100 million (about £90 million) before the coronavirus pandemic and the 20-year-old attacking player has two years left on his contract.
The competition is likely to include Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Real Madrid. Havertz has scored 15 goals and claimed eight assists this season.
There were doubts over when Kanté would return to full training, because of his personal health concerns, but the midfielder is now with his Chelsea team-mates, reports @garyjacob #CFC https://t.co/1HJHDGCBBf
