Newcastle vs Everton betting tips: Premier League preview & predictions

Newcastle vs Everton 101 Great Goals prediction: Newcastle 1-2 Everton

Newcastle and Rafa Benitez could take a huge step towards Premier League safety with a win over Marco Silva’s Everton this weekend.

Benitez’s side were very poor early on in the season but are now starting to grind out some results.

In their last six, Newcastle have won two, drawn one and lost three which isn’t the worst considering where they were early on in the campaign.

While opponents Everton were good early on in the season, their form has dipped drastically since the winter.

Before the Cardiff game at the end of last month, the Toffees had only won three in 14 Premier League matches.

However, their fortunes look to be improving as they held strong against Liverpool in the Merseyside derby last weekend.

Newcastle vs Everton: Who will win?

It won’t come as any shock that there is no clear favourite for this game.

Both sides are pretty evenly matched when comparing their recent form and ability on the pitch.

Though, there has to be a favourite and that comes in the form of Marco Silva’s Everton.

They go into the game with odds of 13/8.

Meanwhile, Rafa Benitez’s Newcastle go into the game as very slight outsiders at odds of 17/10.

Looking at the both teams to score market is where it could get interesting.

Everton have been one of the best teams to bet on when it comes to BTTS this season though it’s been different for Newcastle of late.

The Magpies have kept two clean sheets in their last three games.

Miguel Almiron

However, we still predict both teams to score which is priced at 19/20.

Both an Everton BTTS win and a Newcastle BTTS win are priced at 5/1.

A 2-1 win for Everton, as we predict, is priced at 10/1.

The goalscorer market could also bring you some luck.

Richarlison is the favourite to score first, as he has been in most games this season, priced at 11/2.

Cenk Tosun and Salomon Rondon follow, both priced at 6/1 to score first.

Though, possibly the most appealing option comes in the form of Gylfi Sigurdsson, who scored two against Cardiff last week and impressed against Liverpool.

He’s priced at 15/2 to score first.

Newcastle vs Everton match preview

After a poor majority of the season, things are starting to look up for Newcastle and Rafa Benitez right now.

Not long ago they were on the thick of a relegation battle and one of the contenders to go down.

However, it’s been a different case in recent weeks.

The Magpies have won two out of their last three and are starting to push up the table.

The first of those wins came in the form of a solid 2-0 victory over relegation candidates Huddersfield.

That was then followed up with an identical 2-0 win over Burnley.

Willy Boly

While things were going brilliantly, they were brought back down to earth somewhat with a 2-0 loss to West Ham.

Despite that, they are now six points above the drop zone and are even looking up the table.

So much so that a win over Everton this weekend would bring them within three points of their Merseyside counterparts.

Though, judging by Everton’s performance against Liverpool at the weekend, that may be difficult.

Can the Toffees show the same resilience they did against Liverpool?

While it’s been a very bad few months for Everton, things may actually be looking up.

Since the Toffees lost the Merseyside derby back in December they have been on a downward slope.

Several poor performances and only three wins in 14 before the Cardiff game put manager Marco Silva under pressure.

However, it’s been an important week for both Silva and Everton.

That is because the Toffees earned themselves a rare win against Cardiff midway through last week.

While that was positive, it was Everton’s performance against Liverpool which impressed fans.

The Blues looked solid for most of the game at Goodison Park and at times actually went toe to toe with their rivals.

Considering the way they’ve played in recent months, that is some good going!

The big question is whether the draw with Liverpool will be a turning point for Everton and Marco Silva.

If it is, Newcastle could be the first casualties of Everton’s new form.

Newcastle team news vs Everton

Possibly the biggest injury news for Newcastle right now is regarding youngster Sean Longstaff.

The promising starlet had broken through to the first team but has cruelly had his season ended due to a knee injury.

Jonjo Shelvey could also miss the game as he attempts to come back from an injury that has plagued him in recent weeks.

Kieran Clark and Rob Elliot are expected to miss the game due to injury.

Everton team news vs Newcastle

The Toffees have actually come out of the Merseyside Derby with no injury problems.

Leighton Baines is the only injury absentee after suffering a hip injury a bit earlier in the season.

Where it gets interesting is potential selection changes.

Bernard did enough against Liverpool to warrant another start, while you would expect Richarlison to return to the team, potentially over Theo Walcott.
