Newcastle vs Burnley prediction: Newcastle 2-1 Burnley

Both teams head into this one in particularly good form, making this a really difficult contest to call.

Burnley are unbeaten in their last eight Premier League matches while Newcastle have won three Premier League matches on the spin at St. James’ Park.

The Clarets will be full of confidence following their recent win over Spurs, although they have only won three matches on the road this season.

Newcastle vs Burnley: Who will win?

Newcastle are 1/1 favourites to win on Tuesday. Burnley are priced at 14/5 while the draw is 23/10.

Both teams have scored in six of the last seven matches involving Burnley. Back both teams to score at 19/20.

Salomon Rondon will be aiming to score in his third consecutive home match. Rondon has seven league goals this season and is 11/2 to score the opening goal of the game and 2/1 to score anytime.

Newcastle vs Burnley Premier League match preview

Newcastle United host Burnley at St. James’ Park on Tuesday night.

Both teams picked up wins at the weekend and are separated by two points in the Premier League table.

The Clarets moved up to 14th after a surprise 2-1 home win over Tottenham on Saturday.

Chris Wood opened the scoring for Burnley but had his goal levelled by Harry Kane less than 10 minutes later. With seven minutes of the 90 left to play, Ashley Barnes popped up with the winner.

Sean Dyche’s side are unbeaten in their last eight Premier League matches and their last four away from home.

Newcastle also moved up the table into 15th place, two points and one place behind Burnley.

Second half goals from Salomon Rondon and Ayoze Perez secured the win for the Magpies against 10-man Huddersfield on Saturday.

Rafa Benitez’s side head into the midweek games four points above the relegation zone.

Newcastle and Burnley have met five times in the Premier League, with three of those matches ending in draws.

Newcastle won the reverse fixture 2-1 in November. Ben Mee put through his own net before Ciaran Clark doubled Newcastle’s lead. Sam Vokes pulled one back for the home side just before half-time.

Newcastle team news vs Burnley

Miguel Almiron is likely to keep his place in the side ahead of Christian Atsu.

Paul Dummett and Ki Sung-yeung were only fit enough to make the bench on Saturday but could return to the starting line-up.

Karl Darlow, Jonjo Shelvey and Yoshinori Muto have all returned to full training and will be hoping to regain their places in the matchday squad.

Rob Elliot and Ciaran Clark remain sidelined for the Magpies.

Following the victory over Spurs, Dyche could well name an unchanged starting eleven for the fifth consecutive match.

Johann Berg Gudmundsson and Robbie Brady are back in contention to start after returning to the Clarets’ bench on Saturday. The former assisted Ashley Barnes’ late winner.

Central midfielder Steven Defour remains sidelined with a calf strain.

There are no return dates for long-term absentees Aaron Lennon and Jonathan Walters.
