Hamza Choudhury “ready to push” for Newcastle loan move

It is proving to be a testing summer for Newcastle fans, with money incredibly tight in the north-east, and little sign of outgoings to help fill the coffers.

As a result, it seems as though loan deals are the order of business, with Leicester City’s Hamza Choudhury the latest midfielder linked with a temporary move to Tyneside.

According to Scott Wilson, of the Northern Echo, the Leicester City midfielder has allegedly asked for a move away from the King Power Stadium this summer in order to find first-team football.

With options sparse in the Newcastle midfield, he would be sure to get plenty of opportunities to showcase his talents to his parent club were he to join Steve Bruce at St James’ Park.

Axel Tuanzebe in the sights

Another potential loan deal in the making is one for Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe, who has failed to make a significant impression in Manchester.

The defender, still just 23 years old, will fall further down the pecking order at Old Trafford upon the imminent arrival of Raphael Varane from Real Madrid, and with rumours that United are chasing yet another centre back, could find his minutes in Manchester almost non-existent were he to stay.

According to the Telegraph, Newcastle United could well be a temporary destination for Tuanzebe, with Steve Bruce “pushing” for a loan move for the Englishman. A permanent deal was discussed, but seems unlikely given the shoestring budget that Steve Bruce is operating with.

Moves would rule out Joe Willock loan

Were both moves to come to fruition, it would end Newcastle United’s loan pursuit for Arsenal midfielder Joe Willock. The youngster took St James’ Park by storm in the second half of last campaign, and Newcastle are thought to have Willock as their top priority this summer.

However, Premier League regulations state that a club can make no more than two domestic loan signings, meaning that any deal for Willock would have to be on a permanent, rather than loan, basis.

Realistically, it appears as though business on Tyneside will continue late into the window, with the club still waiting for the green light from Arsenal to pursue their top target.

How many moves can Steve Bruce get done?
