The Chronicle’s Lee Ryder is today reporting that Newcastle have made no approach for Liverpool’s Danny Ings and are instead solely focused on completing the Salomon Rondon deal.
For all those asking about Ings there’s been no bid or approach for him. Focus has been on Rondon over the weekend. #nufc

The Telegraph recently reported that Liverpool are set for a mass clearout this summer.
As per the report, Klopp could be set to shift on many players this summer, raising over £100m in the process.
Some of the players Liverpool could be set to sell are the underperforming Loris Karius, Divock Origi, Danny Ings, Sheyi Ojo, Lazar Markovic and Pedro Chirivella.
This is hardly surprising given that Liverpool have already brought in four fresh faces to the Liverpool squad this summer meaning departures were always likely.
Furthermore, according to The Telegraph Danny Ings is a reported target of several Premier League clubs one of which is seemingly Newcastle but as of right now, no official approach has been made by the North East club.
A super season
When Newcastle United won promotion to the Premier League in 2016/17, many people believed they would struggle to stay up due to the lack of money spent on their squad.
On the surface, Newcastle do not exactly seem blessed with top Premier League talents. However, Rafa Benitez was able to guide what is quite an average Newcastle side to a 10th place finish in the Premier League.
A big part of why Newcastle were able to finish so high in the table was due to the performances of club captain Jamal Lascelles and a few other key players.
Now, however, given Newcastle finished in an impressive 10th place last season, they will need to bring in a few fresh faces in order to improve on their 2017/18 season and signing Ings would have helped with that, but it seems Newcastle fans may have to wait and see if Newcastle will make an approach for Ings once the Rondon deal is done.
