Newcastle leading chase for Rose
Danny Rose has racked up over 200 appearances for Tottenham’s senior side, and has been on their books since 2007.
However, could Rose’s time with Spurs be coming to an end?
The England international has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs during the winter window, with the Evening Standard recently reporting that Newcastle, Bournemouth and Watford are all interested in Rose’s services.
The 29-year-old also looks to have fallen out of favour with new Spurs boss Jose Mourinho.
Rose, who is contracted to Tottenham until 2021, has made just three league appearances since Mourinho took the reins at Spurs.
The full-back was also completely omitted from all three of the Lilywhites’ FA Cup games this year.
In place of Rose, it appears that Mourinho favours the likes of Jan Vertonghen, Ryan Sessegnon and Japhet Tanganga for the left-back spot.
Now, on Wednesday the 29th of January, Sky Sports News are reporting that Newcastle United have emerged as the frontrunners to sign Rose from Tottenham.
The Magpies recently saw their main left-back, Jetro Willems, ruled out for the remainder of the campaign. So, Newcastle moving for Rose this month would make a fair bit of sense.
Walker-Peters joins Southampton
Should Rose indeed move this window, he would be the second Spurs full-back to depart the club this month.
Kyle Walker-Peters has, on Wednesday, joined fellow Premier League outfit Southampton on loan for the remainder of the season.

The 22-year-old has struggled for minutes at Spurs this season, featuring just once under Jose Mourinho.
