Alcacer’s Dortmund stint
Paco Alcacer has spent the last two seasons plying his trade with German outfit Borussia Dortmund.
The former Barcelona striker enjoyed a superb debut season on loan with BVB, netting 19 and assisting two in 32 outings across all competitions.
Dortmund then made the Spaniard’s move a permanent one over the summer for a fee of around £18.9m.
Alcacer’s 2019/20 hasn’t been as fruitful, but he has still managed five goals in 11 league outings.
But as the season has worn on, the 26-year-old has seen his game time continue to be reduced.
The Spaniard started Dortmund’s first five Bundesliga outings this campaign.
However, since those fixtures, Alcacer has been afforded just one league start by the German powerhouse.
And the recent arrival of Erling Haaland to Dortmund will likely see Alcacer’s minutes reduced even further.
The Norwegian hitman has netted five goals in his first two appearances for BVB.

Alcacer to Newcastle?
Now, with less than a week of the January transfer window remaining, Alcacer is being linked with a move to Premier League outfit Newcastle United.
The Magpies are having an okay 2019/20 campaign, sitting 14th in the English top-flight.
But one area Newcastle have been lacking in this term is goals.
Summer signing Joelinton has found the back of the net just once in 24 league appearances this season.
So, the signing of Alcacer would likely be a huge coup for Newcastle.
And, according to the Sun, Steve Bruce is in talks with Dortmund for Alcacer, who could reportedly move on loan.
The report from the Sun also claims that the Spaniard wants to play to boost his chances of making the national side at Euro 2020.
The Sun then reports on the possibility of a permanent transfer in the summer, with a £25m figure mentioned.
