Gary Neville after Man City 3 – Arsenal 0
Following the Carabao Cup final on Sunday at Wembley, Gary Neville recorded his weekly podcast for Sky Sports.
Man City beat Arsenal 3-0 in the League Cup final. Pep Guardiola has now won his first trophy with the Sky Blues.
When commentating on live TV, Neville destroyed Arsenal for their performance against City.
Singling out players like Aaron Ramsey and Mesut Ozil, Neville labelled Arsenal “pathetic” as they “walked” around the Wembley pitch.
When it came to his podcast, Gary Neville admitted that the word pathetic mat have been a bit harsh, but he stayed true to his central point:
I saw things out on that pitch from Arsenal. I actually called it in the lead up to the third goal, where they were walking back, and walking up, and walking towards the ball. You do not walk on a football pitch, that’s the one thing you don’t do.
I have to say, they’re walkers, they maybe lacked confidence and the belief to beat Man City, but I called it pathetic – that might be too strong – I called it a disgrace, I think that is not based on a single performance, it’s based on two or three years now, watching these players do the same things and losing in the same way.
Man United to beat Liverpool & Tottenham to second place
Towards the end of the broadcast, the issue was raised for who will finish as runners up in the Premier League.
Man United beat Chelsea on Sunday, while Liverpool and Tottenham picked up wins over the weekend too.
For Gary Neville, he believes United will finish the season ahead of Liverpool and Spurs in the league.
For the record, Man United host Liverpool in the Premier League on March 10.
