Netherlands vs Canada live streaming: Match preview

A straight shootout for top spot in Group E.

Netherlands started with a 1-0 win over New Zealand before they took on Cameroon on Saturday.

Cameroon may be 38 places below Holland in the FIFA World rankings but that was not evident in Valenciennes.

However, Netherlands did take the lead just before half time when Vivianne Miedema headed in Shanice van de Sanden’s cross.

But, they weren’t ahead for long.

Just 154 seconds later, Cameroon were level after a defensive mixup.

Nevertheless, whatever was said in the Dutch dressing room at half time clearly worked.

The ball bounced around the six-yard box before being put in by Dominique Bloodworth just three minutes after the break.

Vivianne Miedema then sealed a 3-1 win with a smart finish with just five to play.

That was a record breaking goal for her.

Miedema’s 60th goal for Netherlands Women means she is now the all-time top goal scorer for her country at the age of just 22.

Will she fire her side to another win here?

This should be the toughest game they’ve faced so far.

Canada also have six points.

Kenneth Heiner-Møller’s team started with a 1-0 win over Cameroon before beating New Zealand 2-0.

Jessie Fleming opened the scoring in the latter with a smart finish just after the interval.

Then, Nichelle Prince secured the 2-0 win a close range tap-in late on.

Prince became the 10th player already to both score and assist in a game at the 2019 Women’s World Cup.

Both Canada and Netherlands will be in the round of 16 but who will boost confidence when they meet in Reims?
