Nicolas Pepe joined LOSC Lille in July of 2017, moving from Angers.
Since moving to Lille, Pepe has been in outstanding form for the French outfit.
In his first season at the club, Pepe would score 14 and assist five in 38 games across all competitions.
The 24-year-old would improve upon those numbers this past season.
In 41 fixtures, Pepe would net 23 and assist 12 for Lille.
Considering he played the majority of those games as a right-winger, that is a solid record.
Napoli & Pepe
Unsurprisingly, after such an outstanding season, Pepe looks to be attracting the interest of some of Europe’s heavy-hitters.
Premier League sides Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal have all been credited with an interest in Pepe.
However, it is Serie A outfit Napoli that Lille’s president claims have reached their €80m valuation for Pepe.
But Lille’s president also goes on to state that it will be up to Pepe himself to decide where he goes, and that his agents have received four offers for him:
“Napoli has offered only for Pépé and has satisfied our request for 80 million.
“Now it will be up to the player to decide where to go, also on the basis of the proposals that his agents have received from the 4 companies.
“On Monday Pepé will return from vacation and I believe that half a week will dissolve the reserves.” As quoted by Gianluca Di Marzio
While Napoli do seem to have the upper hand in the Pepe race, reliable journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has given Manchester United some hope.
According to Di Marzio, Napoli have offered €3.5m-per-season, plus €500,000 in bonuses to Pepe. However, there is also competition from Man United.
