Watford 0 – Arsenal 1
It took until April 15, but Arsenal finally recorded their first clean sheet in an away Premier League at Watford.
The Gunners won a pivotal match 1-0 against the Hornets.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang charged down Ben Foster to score a freak goal for Arsenal.
Minutes later Watford were down to 10-men as Troy Deeney was sent off.
The win lifted Arsenal back up to fourth in the standings with 66 points from 33 games. Tottenham, in third, have 67 points on the board.
Napoli & Crystal Palace
This Thursday night Arsenal are back in Europa League action against Napoli.
The Gunners travel to Italy with a 2-0 advantage from the first-leg of their quarterfinal tie.
Of course, even if they fail to finish in the top four in the league, Arsenal would gain entry into next season’s Champions League if they win this competition.
Next weekend Arsenal host Crystal Palace in the Premier League.
Lucas Torreira injury fears
Arsenal fans will now be sweating over the fitness of Lucas Torreira.
Torreira has only just returned to league action after serving a three match suspension.
But is the midfield enforcer set for another spell out the team?
The Uruguayan was subbed out of the Watford game at halftime. Mesut Ozil was brought on as a replacement.
It’s believed that Torreira suffered a groin injury at Vicarage Road.
After the match Unai Emery gave the following update on Torreira’s fitness:
First I decided to change Torreira because after the red card the atmosphere was against him.
Also the doctor said to me in the first half he had a little bit of pain like Thursday and I decided ‘ok, it’s the moment’.
It’s the same problem like Thursday. It’s a small pain. I am thinking he will be okay for Thursday.
