‘Mourinho levels of delusion’: Tottenham boss Nuno slammed over verdict following West Ham loss

‘Mourinho levels of delusion’: Tottenham boss Nuno slammed over verdict following West Ham loss

West Ham vs Tottenham

West Ham and Tottenham faced off on Sunday afternoon in a Premier League clash.

Both sides headed into the game having enjoyed decent starts to the 2021/22 season.

Spurs had won five and lost three in eight before kicking off at the London Stadium, whilst the Hammers had won four, drawn two and lost two.

As a result, both sides were aware that a win against their London rivals would see them, temporarily at least, move into a Champions League spot.

The two teams could not be separated at the break, despite a few key chances at either end.

A definitive winner was eventually forthcoming, though, courtesy of West Ham.

Almost inevitably, it was the red-hot Michail Antonio who fired his side into the lead, latching onto a corner from Aaron Cresswell to smash an effort past Hugo Lloris, securing all three points in the process.

Antonio has now scored six Premier League goals against Spurs, more than any other opponent in the competition:

Tottenham fans disagree with Nuno

Following the game, despite his side having not managed a single shot during the 2nd-half, Nuno Espirito Santo revealed his belief that Spurs were in fact the better team on Sunday:

However, it is fair to say that the majority of Tottenham’s fans disagree with the club’s boss, and have since taken to Twitter to express as much, as showcased below:
