Man United worry: Jose Mourinho ‘doesn’t trust’ Marcus Rashford

Mourinho’s lack of trust

Jose Mourinho doesn’t trust Marcus Rashford.

That’s according to Phil Thompson, who thinks that the young player will eventually have to move on.

He thinks Mourinho doesn’t trust Rashford, and that’s going to impact on the playing time Rashford gets.

In turn, that will have a negative impact on his career and development.

Sky Sports report Thompson said: “Marcus Rashford is a very talented boy.

“Is he going to fit in at Manchester United? I don’t think so.

“I don’t think there is trust from the manager to the player that he can do it on a regular basis. That is why he is only coming into the team now and again.”

A big decision

Of course, Rashford has been impressive for England.

His lack of time on the field for Man United hasn’t stopped his performances for the Three Lions.

He has two in two this international break, but can’t feature for the next three games for Mourinho’s men.

That’s on the back of being sent off against Burnley.

Thompson continued:“He is only 20 years old and he probably needs a little more time, but I think this season is a big season for him. Come the end of the season he then has to make the decision.

“He’s got to start playing regularly.

“He has to analyse his game time this year but when you look at a manager to player relationship. I don’t think there is total trust from the manager of whether he’s a centre-forward. A left-sided player or a right-sided one.”
