Man United beat Man City 3-2

This could have been the weekend that Man City won the Premier League title.

And, at halftime in the Manchester derby on Saturday night, the Sky Blues were on the verge of being crowned champions.

But then Man United stage the comeback of the season to win the derby 3-2.

Vincent Kompany and Ilkay Gundogan had put City 2-up at the break.

But then United hit back in the second half. Paul Pogba scored a double, before Chris Smalling volleyed home the winner.

Jose Mourinho: ‘Hopefully Man City will beat Tottenham’

After the match Jose Mourinho made some interesting comments about Man City.

The Special One remained fully aware that City will be the 2017-18 Premier League champions.

So after the win at the Etihad, Mourinho took the opportunity to “congratulate” Pep Guardiola on his side’s achievement. Mourinho also hopes City beat Tottenham next weekend:

They’re going to win the title and deservedly. They gave no chance to the others.

Hopefully City needs to beat Spurs to win the title because our challenge is to finish second. I now have a chance to congratulate City on their title. They are going to win, they deserve the title.

We’re not the team people think we are. We’re not as bad as people think. I’m not a bad manager as people think i am. We beat Liverpool, Chelsea. Manchester City.

Tottenham beat Stoke 2-1 on the road on Saturday.

Man United are now on 71 points, while Liverpool and Tottenham are both on 67.

Liverpool have played a game more than Spurs and United.
