Photos of the post-match press conference following Manchester United’s victory over Swansea City earlier today have been going viral online this evening.
The two sides went head to head at Old Trafford, with hosts United having headed into proceedings looking to take back 2nd-place in the Premier League table, after Liverpool leapfrogged Jose Mourinho’s men with their win over Crystal Palace earlier today.
Swansea, meanwhile, sat 4 places and 3 points clear of the English top-flight’s relegation zone before today, though Carlos Carvalhal’s men did hold games in hand over a number of clubs below them.

The early moments of today’s clash unsurprisingly saw hosts United well on top, with the dominance of the Red Devils having paid off in a major way with just 5 minutes on the clock, as Alexis Sanchez’s pull back following a flowing move saw Romelu Lukaku’s strike loop up and past the helpless Lukasz Fabianski in the Swansea goal.
And the game was essentially ended as a contest 15 minutes later, as Alexis Sanchez latched onto a pass from the ever-influential Jesse Lingard to slot home at Fabianski’s near post.
United largely coasted from there on-in, and, although Swansea were only denied a second-half goal of their own by a couple of typically stunning David De Gea saves, the likes of Lukaku, Sanchez and Juan Mata could easily have made the scoreline a more flattering one for the hosts.
An interesting sub-plot this afternoon revolved around the relationship between managers Jose Mourinho and Carlos Carvalhal, with the latter having labelled his fellow countryman the ‘king’ earlier this week, and the pair having exchanged opinions and jokes on the sideline throughout proceedings this afternoon.
And the Portuguese duo carried their ‘bromance’ into this evening’s post-match press conference, where, unusually, both sat down together to discuss the day’s action:
