Liverpool 2 – Sunderland 0

Liverpool returned to the top of the Premier League, perhaps briefly on Saturday afternoon, thanks to a 2-0 win over Sunderland.

It was not an easy game at all and the Liverpool win came at a great cost with the injury to Philippe Coutinho.

After the game, Klopp described Sunderland as “the most defensive team I’ve seen in my life. They play defensive and that is OK. We forced them to be that.”

Did Jurgen Klopp turn the game?

Following the win, many Liverpool fans also congratulated Klopp for changing the dynamic at Anfield of a key match in their season.

With Coutinho off with what appeared to be a serious injury, Anfield was struggling to lift themselves in the second half and only grabbed their opener through substitute Divock Origi with 15 minutes to go.
