Mohamed Salah should join Barcelona over Real Madrid – Samuel Eto’o

Liverpool standout

Mohamed Salah would return to the Premier League in July of 2017, moving from AS Roma to Liverpool.

Salah had previously played in the English top-flight with Chelsea, but it never really worked out for the Egyptian at Stamford Bridge.

However, Salah would hit the ground running at Anfield.

During his first season at Liverpool, Salah would score a staggering 44 goals and assist 16 in 52 games across all competitions.

The 27-year-old’s 2018/19 campaign was not as impressive as his previous, but it was still superb.

Salah would net 27 and assist 13 in 52 games this past season. He also won the Premier League Golden Boot.

Eto’o wants Salah in Barcelona

After two exceptional seasons in England, Salah has been linked with a move away from the Premier League.

According to the Mirror, Salah rejected the chance to leave Liverpool this summer, with both Real Madrid and Juventus reportedly interested.

With Salah being linked to Los Blancos, Samuel Eto’o has given some advice to the Liverpool forward.

Eto’o began his senior career with Madrid, but only made three first-team appearances.

However, Eto’o would make 144 appearances for Barcelona, and it is Barca whom Eto’o has told Salah to join, should he get the chance:

“Barcelona would be a better fit.

“Real gave me the opportunity to leave Africa but I know Barcelona’s style and I think it would be better for him.

“If he has the chance to play in the best league of the world, which is the Spanish one, he has to sign for Barcelona.

“Mo has everything to be one of the best players in the world.” As quoted by BBC Sport.
