Mohamed Salah set a Liverpool record during Manchester United hammering

A stellar showing by Mohamed Salah against Manchester United has led to the Egyptian etching his name into the Liverpool history books on Sunday.

Liverpool smash Manchester United

Liverpool and Manchester United are currently playing out a Premier League tie at Old Trafford.

However, with 45 minutes gone at the time of writing, there is only one team actually playing at a Premier League level.

United looked absolutely horrendous throughout the first half, with their defence basically non-existent.

Luke Shaw and Harry Maguire have been two of the worst players on the pitch, though, in truth, essentially every member of the hosts’ XI has been less than subpar.

Liverpool, in turn, took advantage of such struggles by racking up a staggering four goals in the first half.

Naby Keita, Diogo Jota and Mohamed Salah (2) found themselves on the scoresheet before the half-time whistle.

As per statisticians Opta, ‘Mohamed Salah has become the first Liverpool player in the club’s history to score in three straight away appearances at Manchester United’:

Elsewhere, it has also been revealed that Man United have slipped four goals behind in a Premier League game by half-time for the first time ever:
