Mohamed Salah reaches out to Roma before semifinal draw

Ready

Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah confirmed his spot in the Champions League semi-finals on Tuesday but his former club Roma followed on Wednesday.

Now, that gives the former Roma star the chance to come up against his old club in the next round.

Liverpool secured their space in the next round by easily dispatching of Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.

Despite the Etihad, side going into the tie as favourites, Liverpool came out 5-1 aggregate winners, with Salah scoring in both legs.

Though, it was Roma who stole the headlines this week.

Comeback drama

The Italian side faced a monumental task when they lost the first leg clash with Barcelona 4-1.

That left Roma having to win the game 3-0 if they were to progress through to the semi-finals.

While no one expected it before the game, everyone was a believer by the end of it.

Goals from Edin Dzeko, Daniele De Rossi and Kostas Manolas completed the turnaround in dramatic fashion.

Now, they are just two games away from stunning the world of football but they may have to go through Mohamed Salah first.

Fighting talk

The official Roma account posted a video today of their fans after the Barcelona win.

Though, eagled-eyed fans quickly noticed that one recognisable name had commented on the picture.

That was Mohamed Salah who posted several fist emoji’s, both applauding the fightback and potentially talking up a meeting in the next round.

No matter the romantic nature of a potential return, Roma will certainly want to avoid Salah in the next round!

While some have suggested that Roma would be the best side for Liverpool to face, others disagree.

In fact, one pundit has claimed that the side need to face one of the big boys in the next round to have any hope of winning the competition.
