Arsenal star Henrikh Mkhitaryan has revealed why he ‘didn’t think twice’ about swapping Manchester United for the Emirates in January.
The Armenian star had a torrid time at Man United despite moving from Borussia Dortmund with such high expectations.
His first season was a mixed bag, with a very poor start and a decent end.
Though, the start of this season was just as bad and he was fed up with Jose Mourinho and playing defensive football.
Now, the player has revealed that he didn’t think twice when it came to being part of the swap deal for Alexis Sanchez.
He also cited the reason why – to play in a more offensive team.
“When I heard I could swap Man United for Arsenal, I said, ‘Yes, I want to do that’, I didn’t think twice,” Mkhitaryan explained in the May 2018 issue of FourFourTwo magazine,“
“It’s important for me to play in an offensive team, I couldn’t have imagined a better start. I’d missed playing offensively.
“I joined Arsenal because Wenger wanted me, not because he wanted to replace Sanchez.
We are different players and characters, with different abilities and skills, so I’ll try my best to do everything for the club.
“I want to write my name into Arsenal’s history and have my name as a legend here.
“I want to score goals, make assists and win trophies to make the fans happy.”
