Arsenal into FA Cup 5th round
Arsenal travelled to Bournemouth on Monday evening for an FA Cup 4th-round tie.
The Gunners saw off Leeds in the last round, and should have had a decent amount of confidence heading into this tie.
Bournemouth are in the midst of a relegation battle, whilst the Gunners have improved somewhat under Mikel Arteta. They were, though, still yet to pick up an away win under the Spaniard.
However, a youthful Arsenal side put an end to that run at the Vitality.
Gabriel Martinelli combined with Bukayo Saka to open the scoring inside six minutes vs Bournemouth.
Saka was once again involved in Arsenal’s second of the evening, setting up a recently-returned Eddie Nketiah in the 26th minute.
The Cherries, who were pretty lackluster in the opening half-hour, mustered up a bit of a fight-back later in the tie, with Sam Surridge pulling one back for Eddie Howe’s side in second-half injury time.
But it was too little, too late, and Mikel Arteta’s side are now set for a 5th-round clash vs Portsmouth.

Arteta on Aubameyang
After securing his side’s place in the 5th-round, Mikel Arteta would hold his post-match press conference on Monday evening.
During the presser, the former Manchester City coach was asked about Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The Arsenal hitman has been linked with Spanish giants FC Barcelona in recent weeks.
But when asked, ‘What would you say to any club – including Barcelona – that will be thinking of signing Aubameyang?’, Arteta had this to say:
“I want Auba here 100%. I am so happy with him and I can’t wait to have him available again after the suspension.” As quoted by football.london.
