Ghanaian midfielder Partey was of course a deadline day arrival at the Emirates last week.

The 27-year-old’s move to north London had been long anticipated, with the Arsenal faithful having no doubt been desperate to catch a glimpse of Partey in the club’s colours in their return to action following the international break.

Arteta’s men made the trip to the Etihad for a Premier League showdown with Manchester City on Saturday evening.

A solitary goal eventually proved the difference between the sides, as Raheem Sterling’s first-half strike made sure of all 3 points for the hosts.

Gunners fans, meanwhile, were treated to Partey’s debut, albeit for just a 10-minute cameo, as the away side went in search of an all-important equaliser.
