Mikel Arteta has this evening opened up on the possibility of him utilising Dani Ceballos and Mesut Ozil together, on the back of Arsenal’s drubbing of Newcastle United.
Arsenal run riot
The Gunners welcomed Steve Bruce’s men to the Emirates earlier today, for their first Premier League outing following the international break.
Arsenal headed into proceedings desperate to get back to winning ways, on the back of 4 straight draws in the English top-flight.
And, when all was said and done in north London, secure a long-overdue 3 points was precisely what Arteta’s men managed.
Following a subdued first-half, the hosts exploded into life after the interval, eventually resulting in Arsenal racking up an impressive 4 goals.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Nicolas Pepe, Mesut Ozil and Alexandre Lacazette were all on target, as the Gunners moved to within 7 points of the Premier League’s top-4.

‘How they perform…’
Evidently, based on the scoreline, a number of Arsenal’s stars impressed versus Newcastle this evening.
Nicolas Pepe bagged a goal and 2 assists, while youngster Bukayo Saka was handed the Man of the Match award by Sky Sports.
Key to the capital giants’ victory, though, was their midfield.
Dani Ceballos looked superb on his return to starting duties, with Mesut Ozil having also impressed throughout.
As such, speaking on the back of his side’s victory, Mikel Arteta was drawn on the prospect of his Spanish and German stars taking to the pitch together again over the coming weeks.
The Arsenal boss, though, was keen to place the onus on Ceballos and Ozil themselves, explaining:
‘Depending how they are, how they train, how they perform.’
‘But I thought Dani was ideal for that game in that position today and the way he’s been training, he completely deserves a chance and I’m so glad with his performance.’
