Mikel Arteta confirms Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s availability for Arsenal vs Leeds & heaps praise on Martin Odegaard

Leeds vs Arsenal

Arsenal will be back in Premier League action vs Leeds United on Saturday evening.

The sides face off in the late kick-off, just the second game of the day currently scheduled to go ahead amid the ongoing Covid-19 outbreak at many Premier League sides.

Arsenal head into the game sitting 4th in the Premier League table, though 6th-placed Manchester United would overtake them, should the Red Devils win their game in hand on the Gunners.

Regardless, Arsenal will no doubt be keen to press on and further extend their lead in the top-four race for the time being.

And they will likely fancy their chances of doing so against a Leeds side struggling for both form and fitness.

Though not 100 per cent confirmed, it appears as though most of Leeds’ current issues are injury, rather than Covid related.

Patrick Bamford and Kalvin Phillips are two of the Whites’ key stars, but are both out injured, whilst Jamie Shackleton went off with an issue during Leeds’ loss to Manchester City.

Mikel Arteta on Aubameyang & Odegaard

Ahead of the Leeds tie, Mikel Arteta held his latest pre-match press conference on Friday morning.

When doing so, the Spaniard confirmed that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will sit out once again at Elland Road:

“No he’s not available for selection.”

Arteta was also full of praise for Martin Odegaard during his presser:

“He’s very young but he already has a lot of experience. He’s getting close to his best level. We’ve got a tremendous player there

“He’s a natural leader. If you look for the perfect professional you don’t have to look much further than him.”

Elsewhere, Arteta claimed he and the club haven’t spoken about a new contract:
