Batshuayi claims Palace boss Hodgson lacks trust in him

Batshuayi claims Palace boss Hodgson lacks trust in him

Domestic Woes

Crystal Palace’s Michy Batshuayi, who is on loan from Chelsea for the second time, has opened up about his struggles at Selhurst Park compared to International football for Belgium.

He has scored 22 goals in 33 games for Belgium, including the opener in their 8-0 win over Belarus this week, but has netted just 7 goals for Palace across his loan spells and has only started 7 games this season.

Batshuayi made the comments when speaking to the press whilst away with Belgium and said that he feels that there is a difference between the trust he feels between his two managers.

“I get a breath of renewed energy when I come into the national team, because it’s very hard for me at my club.”

“The club and the national team are different. The coach, the team members and the system are different from that at Palace.”

“With the Red Devils, I feel a lot of trust from the coach; trust that I do not get there (at Palace). With Roberto Martinez, we talk to each other a lot, even when I’m back at my club. I give 200% not to disappoint him.”

Future unknown

Andros Townsend has spoken on the future of himself at others at Crystal Palace.

He has made 27 appearance for the Eagles this season in the Premier League but his current deal runs out at he end of the campaign.

He said he will put his all into the games remaining even though there is a question mark over his future.

We’ve been told as players that they’re going to make a decision on our futures towards the end of the season.”

“We’re gonna have to keep doing what we’re doing and yeah that’s it basically. We’re contracted until July 1 so until then we’ll give everything for the cause.

“It is difficult but unfortunately it is the times that we’re living in. We’re living in an era where clubs have obviously lost a lot of money from a lack of fans over the last 12 months.

“If I go back to February I was out of the team, I wasn’t playing well. Obviously with contracts running down the turn of the year is when you start thinking right, I’ve got six months left here.”

“When I played I really struggled because I was thinking: right, I need to play well and earn a new contract and it wasn’t working. And it’s only since then that I’ve realised what will be, you just do what you’re currently doing and things will work themselves out.”

“At the moment, Palace are speaking to nobody so we’re all in the same boat I think, but you don’t really speak about other clubs you’re speaking to, I’ve just let my agent deal with it. As soon as the season ends on May 23rd then we’ll sit down and we’ll have a chat and go through options but at the moment just let me do my thing, and everyone else is kind of doing the same.”
