Serge Gnarby’s move to Werder Bremen
When the Bundesliga restarts this weekend, Werder Bremen’s latest addition, Serge Gnabry, should receive his debut following his move from Arsenal on transfer deadline day.
Gnabry joined the German club in a five million euro deal, while Bayern Munich reportedly had a major hand in helping get the transfer over the line.
Indeed, there are claims that Bayern have an option to sign Gnabry in the future.
Mesut Ozil’s influence
On Wednesday, Sport Bild have looked into the transfer, and they’ve focused on how Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil influence Gnabry to make the move.
Ozil, who came to fame at Bremen, reportedly talked to Gnabry about his former employers, and his voice was a huge reason in why the 21-year-old midfielder opted to make the transfer.
As for Werder, they were convinced into doing the deal after speaking with another former player currently at Arsenal: Per Mertesacker.
Mertesacker spoke to Bremen manager Frank Baumann about Gnabry’s talents, which helped the German club decide that they were ready to make their move.
