Arsenal vs Valencia
Arsenal will host Valencia on Thursday in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final.
The Gunners will then travel to Valencia for the return leg on May 9th.
Heading into the game Arsenal’s top four hopes have taken a bit of a hit.
Unai Emery’s side have lost their last three Premier League outings.
As a result, they are now two points off 4th spot with just two league games left to play.
So, winning the Europa League may now be Arsenal’s best bet at playing Champions League football next year.
Ozil future update
Prior to facing Valencia, Mesut Ozil has been speaking about his future in North London.
Ozil signed a bumper contract in January of 2018 worth around £300,000-per-week.
Since signing that deal though, the German has been rather inconsistent for Arsenal and is often left out by Unai Emery.
Ozil has missed many games this season with supposed injuries, including Arsenal’s last game vs Leicester.
With Ozil on such a hefty deal, underperforming and often injured, Arsenal may well have wanted to cash in on him this summer.
However, when asked about his Arsenal future, Ozil claims he is happy to see out the rest of his contract that expires in 2021:
“I have two years left on my contract. I don’t know about after that but yes, absolutely.
“I’m 30 now and I’ve still got two years in front of me and what happens after that I don’t know myself.”As quoted by the Evening Standard.
