As per a report from Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, out-of-favour Barcelona duo Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes are both set for imminent transfers to Premier League outfit Everton.
The story surrounding the future of Colombian stopper Mina has been one of the talking points of the transfer window to this point, with the likes of Liverpool, Fenerbahce, Lyon, Manchester United and Everton all touted as potential destinations for the powerhouse.
It has long been known that Barcelona are ready to part ways with Mina, with Clement Lenglet’s arrival from Sevilla earlier this summer having made the South American fully expendable.
Manchester United and Everton have emerged as the clear front-runners for the 23-yea-old over the last couple of weeks, with reports in Spain over recent days having suggested that a move to the latter was on the verge of completion.
And, as per the aforementioned update from Mundo Deportivo a short time ago, Mina now looks closer than ever before to becoming a new Everton player, amid claims that he, alongside fellow Barcelona man Andre Gomes, is currently undergoing medical tests in Barcelona under the supervision of representatives from Goodison Park.
25-year-old midfielder Gomes, meanwhile, has never truly settled in Catalunya following his big-money arrival from La Liga rivals Valencia two years ago.
Despite being unquestionably talented, the Portuguese international has simply never found his legs at the Camp Nou, with his tentative performances both last season and the campaign before having showcased a clear lack of confidence on Gomes’ part.
As such, with both Arturo Vidal and Arthur having been added to Barca’s midfield ranks this summer, Gomes has been deemed surplus to requirements, with the likes of West Ham United, Juventus and Manchester United having been named as admirers.
But, as per MD’s report, Gomes is also all set for a move to Goodison Park, with the Benfica youth product set to arrive on Merseyside on a year-long loan.
