Max Meyer

Max Meyer completes sensational Crystal Palace move

Ambitious move

Former Schalke midfielder Max Meyer has completed an impressive move to Crystal Palace today as the side hope to solidify their Premier League status.

Crystal Palace and their relegation battles have been well documented over the years and last seasons was no doubt the worst.

They have finished just above the drop in the past three seasons and looked set to go down after an incredibly poor start to last season.

Key player Wilfred Zaha was one of those that made sure they did not suffer the drop as they eventually even finished 11th.

Now, they’re looking to put that all behind them with a bunch of pretty impressive signings to solidify themselves in the middle of the pack or higher.

‘Meyer of London’

Max Meyer is certainly a marquee signing, while he didn’t perform to the best of his ability last season, he is known to be a top talent in Europe.

He didn’t manage a single goal or assist last season before leaving on a free transfer, with Palace picking him up.

Now, he’s just excited to get going.

“I feel really good and I’m happy to be here,” he explained to the Palace official website.

“I can’t wait to start training with the team and I hope I’ll have a good season.

“I’m proud to be here and I hope I can make the next step in my career. I want to give my best and I think we can have a good season – maybe better than the last.

“I played at Selhurst Park last season for Schalke and the atmosphere was perfect, and I can’t wait to experience the atmosphere for a Premier League game.”

Confirmed: Crystal Palace sign West Ham’s Cheikhou Kouyate

Meyer isn’t the only decent move Palace have made so far.
