Maurizio Sarri slams Bayern’s lack of ‘respect’ over Hudson-Odoi move

Sarri isn’t happy in the slightest

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has criticised Bayern Munich over a lack of professionalism and respect in their pursuit of Callum Hudson-Odoi.

The Blues youngster has been in the headlines for a number of weeks now following interest from the German giants.

Bayern made their first move for the player at the very end of 2018 with a bid which was rejected.

The Bundesliga side then tabled another bid, said to be £30million, which was also rejected.

Then, this week they offered what Chelsea had asked for, said to be £35million.

It has not been reported yet as to whether they have accepted or rejected the bid.

“So they didn’t respect our club, I think”

Bayern’s sporting director, Hasan Salihamidzic, explained on Wednesday that Hudson-Odoi was a player “whom we really want to sign.”

Safe to say, Maurizio Sarri was not happy in the slightest with those comments.

He responded in his press conference on Friday claiming that the comments lacked professionalism and respect.

“It’s not professional, because they are talking about a player under contract with Chelsea,” explained Sarri, as quoted by the BBC.

“So they didn’t respect our club, I think.”

Sarri also had a few words on how he thought Hudson-Odoi was doing on the pitch.

He also reaffirmed that he wanted to keep him at the club.

“We are very happy with the player because he is improving,” Sarri continued.

“He is improving a lot I think in the defensive phase. Now, he needs to improve in some movements without the ball.

“He is working very well and I’d like to have him in the future.”
